Hi, I'm Aspen!
I fell in love with sewing in elementary school, the day my mom sat me down at her sewing machine. Soon after, I was selling reversible canvas messenger bags at craft fairs, and I was hooked for good.
Everything after that, I taught myself. YouTube tutorials, lots of trial and error, and eventually drafting my own patterns from scratch. After years of self-drafting, I realized I could turn those skills into something every sewist could use.
Fun fact: I'm a trained engineer! Near the end of engineering school, I realized my heart wasn't in it. I was chasing the security and control that career promised. After a year working as an engineer, I chose to trust that God would provide, and I took the leap into designing sewing patterns full time.
That engineering brain still shows up in every pattern I make. I want you to feel capable, informed and supported every step of the way, and to learn something new each time you sew.
When I'm not at my machine, you'll find me with my family, curled up with a book, or trying every other fiber art I can get my hands on (crochet, knitting, embroidery, all of it!). I'm based in Littleton, Colorado, and I'm so glad you're here.
